Joe has served on DCHS's Board of Directors since 2007. He is the Managing Partner of Laffey, Leitner & Goode LLC, a law firm based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He focuses his practice on business, franchise, dealership, and intellectual property litigation. In addition, Joe dedicates a portion of his professional time practicing animal law. He has litigated numerous animal seizure cases in the State of Wisconsin on behalf of shelters around the state. He counsels animal shelters on business matters and teaches animal cruelty and neglect law in multiple forums, including for the State of Wisconsin and various municipalities. In his career, Joe has represented clients in complex commercial and business litigation proceedings in state and federal trial and appellate courts throughout the United States. He has an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a law degree from Syracuse University College of Law. He also holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship & Public Affairs at Syracuse University. In addition to serving as a director, Joe’s firm is engaged as outside counsel for DCHS. Along with his wife Dina, he is the proud human companion of two cats adopted from DCHS named Audrey and Duke and a spoiled boxer named Greta.
